About
Located in Hemingfield Barnsley, our private pond spans 1,123 m² (about half a football pitch) and reaches six feet at its deepest point. Nestled among overarching trees, it offers a peaceful setting where wildlife thrives. Outdoor furniture, including benches and chairs, makes it an ideal spot for a family day out.
Pegs
Peg 1: Straight ahead from the gate, down a steep path.
Pegs 2–10: Turn right at the gate and walk down the incline.
- You will pass Peg 2 on your left.
- At the bottom, there is a garden bench under the tree — this is Peg 3.
- Continue past the tree where the nets are hung to reach Pegs 4, 5, and 6 — all good pegs.
- Walk further on and cross the small bridge. There is scaffolding on the right and the ground is uneven in this area.
- Just beyond this are Pegs 7, 8, 9, and 10.
There are three additional pegs further along the path. Please note that this section is currently a bit boggy.

- Wentworth Woodhouse stately house (S62 7TQ), grade 1 listed country house
- Wentworth Garden centre (S62 7 TF), has pet shop, small family farm. Large coffee/restaurant. A large shop. A Walled garden.
- Wentworth village and church. Beautiful to stroll round, a few nice pubs
- Wentworth arts, crafts and antiques centre and cafe (S62 7SB).
- Elsecar Heritage centre (S74 8HJ). A large indoor antique centre. Cafe, some small shops. It has events on at a weekend, include the steam train. Nice walk along the old canal path.
- Cortonwood shopping park (S73 0UF).
